THE STORY

Age and size are only numbers. It’s the attitude you bring to clothes that make the difference. Elegance is not the prerogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future. I think it’s the responsibility of a designer to try to break rules and barriers. Men don’t want another man to look at their woman because they don’t know how to handle it.

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous. Design is a series of creative choices – it’s a collaborative effort, an evolutionary process. You choose your fabrics depending upon what you want to say, then you work with mills to get those fabrics. Through the process, you realize what you want it to be. Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity.

Fashion fosters cliches of beauty, but I want to tear them apart. It’s a philosophy of life. A practice. If you do this, something will change, what will change is that you will change, your life will change, and if you can change you, you can perhaps change the world. Attitude is everything. It’s useless to send models out on the runway to cry. You can only go forward by making mistakes.
